Always a photographer
Hi All…it’s been a while.
I’ve just returned from a trip to Western Australia to catch up with family…something that is vitally important, but increasingly more difficult, as they grow up, spread their wings and relocate to varying parts of the country.
Technology makes it easier to keep in touch, but nothing compares to being there.
Of course, I can’t go anywhere without a camera (and a drone…just in case). There were quite a few times when my shoulders were complaining (or my wife was because of the extra hassles at airports due to spare batteries) when I wished I was “normal” and just carried a camera phone. I’ve tried to travel “light”, but I just get stressed at the thought of missing or compromising on a shot because I don’t have the right piece of gear. As it was I had to leave heaps at home J
For those of you who are interested…here’s my gear list from this trip.
Canon 5Dmk4 + 1 spare battery, Canon 24-70mm f2.8, Canon 70-200mm f2.8 + ND and polarising filters, Mavic Pro + 1 spare battery, Nisi filter holder and filters, MEFoto travel tripod
At various times my MacBook pro was added to the above…and all was carried in a LowePro FastBack BP250 AWII. (I chose the Lowepro bag over my Think Tank Airport roller bag for its better performance as a backpack…way more comfortable off the beaten track).
My general suitcase also had cables, chargers and a portable hard drive.
Anyway...I hope you enjoy the images.
I’ll add more in the not too distant future…until next time…
