I built a book

Hi All….

As mentioned last week, a couple of my bucket list items are being crossed off this year.

Well, the first has happened. Today I took delivery of the first copies of my book…so excited…like a little kid at Christmas.

The boxes arrived. I knew what was in them and I just wanted to dive in and rip one open. But, with age comes a little wisdom (or something else I don’t really have a name for) … I took the dog for a walk instead. Then I took my car to the bodyworks, (it got run into New Years Eve).

I guess it was a way of building the anticipation…and I also think I may have just been a little bit scared that I might have stuffed something up and blown a whole lot of money!

Well…here goes…

I cant really describe how it felt. Holding a book, a REAL book, one I made. One filled with my images…it’s just like…WOW.

I was really undecided as to whether or not to go ahead with the book. If I was going to do it, it had to be quality…and that meant production costs just kept climbing. I still don’t know if, (from a practical business point of view) I have done the right thing…probably not. But, to be perfectly honest, having held MY book…I don’t care. It would be nice to sell some to recover some of the cost…but as a bucket list item…It is one bloody big tick.
