Say what!
My Mum used to say to me, ‘If you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all.’
It’s a great saying…but that’s not why I haven’t blogged for a while.
I’m actually having trouble finding things to put in writing that I think you will actually be interested in hearing/reading. I don’t want to just prattle on and bore you to tears.
So, if any of you (that is assuming people do actually read this) have any topics (preferably photography related) let me know and I will try to oblige.
One thing that I have done since we last got together is to do a bit of study. This proved to be a bit of a challenge. I can’t remember the last time I had to hit the books…and that was part of the problem…memory…mine is nowhere near as good as it used to be. Anyway, I put my head down, stirred up the old grey matter a bit and managed to pass the theory and practical to gain my Remote Pilot’s License…I am now qualified to fly a drone up to 7kg. While there (Hobart) I also sat the Aviation Radio Operator’s Certificate exam (I hadn’t intended to go for this and consequently hadn’t studied) and passed with flying colours (pardon the pun). I see the drone as an adjunct to my business, offering a little bit extra to my clients.
Something I am looking forward to in the next month is a trip to Sydney. I am attending the Aperture Photography Conference hoping for some inspiration, catching up with a couple of my good mates…and you never know, I might learn something in the process. There is a good line up of guest speakers so the odds of not picking something up is pretty slim. I reckon the conference and associated trip is a good chance to be a blog topic in the future (assuming I remember to get pics etc ). I have a bad habit of becoming engrossed in the moment and forgetting...it happens all the time when I am on a shoot. I get back to the office and kick myself that I didn’t get any behind the scenes images for here or my Insta and Facebook feeds…still yet to be truly social media savvy.
Another thing that will probably pop up on my feeds in the next week or so, will be the big unveiling. Of what you may ask? Well, I had a request to have one of the images from my exhibition printed bigger. They were already about 1.5 metres wide, so the request threw me a bit…I needed to find somewhere that could print that large. The final image is 2.4 metres wide…I haven’t seen the end result yet…but I am pretty excited to see it in the flesh. I will share pics when I have them.
Well, considering I didn’t feel I had much to say, I have managed to waffle pretty well. Like I said earlier, If you have anything you would like me to include in future posts, please let me know.
Until next time…
