As sweet as they come.
Hello
Here we are again. And once again, time is flying. It seems I only just finish writing one blog and it’s time for the next.I go through the process of making a list of some of the things I have been up to and then try and pick a few that you might find slightly interesting.
The big news this time around is that I have a new lady in my life. Some of you won’t be at all surprised, but for others this will come as a shock.
A beautiful young lady called Heidi has stolen my heart. I never had any intention of venturing down this path. In fact, I got quite upset when my wife told me her plan.
It was all her idea. Apparently, I was lonely. I needed a companion.
So, as an early birthday present (very early), she gifted me Heidi. It was pretty obvious that Michelle was a bit excited by the idea of having Heidi about…it wasn’t all about me.
Anyway, this is Heidi.
Isn’t she gorgeous?
She is settling in extremely well (even the cats are slowly coming around to the idea).
She is like my shadow. She tries to follow me everywhere and if I sit, she is in my lap. It’s not easy trying to use a computer with a small dog on your lap.
Being much smaller than Ernie (our beautiful boy that crossed the rainbow bridge earlier this year) the gates around the house aren’t as effective as they need to be, so I am having to modify them.
I don’t think Heidi would wander off, but better safe than sorry.
The front gate is problematic as it opens inwards onto a slope. There needs to be enough space for it to clear the path, which leaves a gap big enough for Heidi to slip under.
I have put on my inventor’s cap and come up with this idea. Do you like it?
Please ignore the state of the path :)
Another project I have been working on is some renovation at my sister’s house. She just had the whole thing reclad and painted and decided that the area around her garage door was outdated and daggy. She asked if I would like to take on the job…and here is the outcome. Let me know what you think.
Happy with the garage end, she decided the front steps needed the same treatment to tie everything together.
This was quite tricky as the ends of the screening sheets are open and reveal the hollow sections of the material’s structure…ugly! The manufacturer doesn’t make an end cap, so I got creative and made a ‘frame’ to keep the lines clean. I think it came out pretty well.
That’s probably enough from me.
Catch you soon. Be nice to each other.
G
And just to prove how time messes with your head…Michelle pointed out it was actually last year when we said goodbye to Ernie. A year on and it is still pretty raw.
